WHO WE ARE

Our mission is to create a helpful and guiding environment for all Indigenous lives. 

 

UTOC Nation, of Merced, California, 501C-3, Non-Profit Organization; Welcomes All First Nation People regardless of the Color of Skin, Creed, Tribe, Enrolled, or Non-enrolled status. UTOC will respect all creation stories of other tribes. We will help guide all our people to find their way to Creator. 

 

At UTOC, Our vision is to understand and work within the material, spiritual, mental, social economic conditions of our people to improve their livelihoods. Work together to provide the means of continuity, as well as build a strong relationship to our culture and preserve the center of our guiding principles in our process of self-liberation. 

 

In addition, UTOC Nation established the following fundamental values. Our key values are Honesty, Family, Dedication, Integrity, Accepting, Charity, Comfort, Equality, Unity and Balance. We will use these values in everyday life and bring them to the organization. 

 

As an important part of our organization, one of our goals are to help the awakening of our people and help them reclaim our indigenous identity, providing our native people a place to call home. Goals as follows to achieve; Reclaiming our indigenous identity, The traditional education of our youth, Academic investment in our adults, Commit supporting causes that are close to our hearts, Decisions, Aspirations and Future endeavors. 

 

Some objectives we have for our non-profit organization; To build better communities one at a time. To restore our traditional ways and teachings for the youth and those who may not know, create a solid and trustful name for us in the future, To focus on spiritual alignment of The Creator; Healing, Knowledge, Restoration, Love, Honor, Set standards, and Giving guidance to our people.

 

In Conclusion, UTOC Nation aims to strike a balance between protection of the environment and our people. We do not want our members to feel devalued or taken for granted. We will listen, observe, and support them.

Joe Rios serves as President of UTOC Nation! He is inspired daily to spread awareness for his indigenous People!
Kayla Rios, Vice President of UTOC Nation. graduated from El Capitan High School with a 4.0 GPA. She has a certificate in cultural monitoring and is currently attending college in hopes of one day attending Law School. 
LaTasha Perez, Secretary of the Board,
hopes to add to a collective healing by living and raising her children with the guidance of her Elders and Ancestors.
